Refund policy

Last updated 10 September 2026

The short version
  • Not what you expected? Email us within 14 days of your first Insider payment and you get a full refund. No form, no reason needed.
  • After that, cancel any time. You keep Insider to the end of what you paid for and are not charged again.
  • We cannot refund because a gap did not earn what the card estimated. Potential figures are estimates, not promises.
  • Nothing here takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. What this policy covers

This policy applies to Insider subscriptions bought from Early Bird, operated by The Early Bird Co. It forms part of our Terms of service. Essential is free, so there is nothing to refund.

2. The 14 day guarantee

If you email us within 14 days of your first Insider payment, we will refund that payment in full. You do not need to give a reason. This applies to your first monthly payment and to your first yearly payment. It applies once per person: if you cancel, take the refund, and later subscribe again, the guarantee does not apply a second time.

When we process the refund your access returns to Essential straight away. Anything you have already used from a plan is yours to keep using.

3. Monthly subscriptions

Cancel any time from your account. Your subscription stops renewing, you keep Insider until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again. We do not refund part of a month that is already underway, apart from the 14 day guarantee and the cases in section 5.

4. Yearly subscriptions

The same 14 day guarantee applies to your first yearly payment. After that, cancel any time and you keep Insider until the end of the year you have paid for. We do not pro rata refund the remaining months of a year already underway, apart from the cases in section 5. If a yearly plan is a big commitment for you, start monthly. You can switch to yearly later.

5. When we will refund outside the 14 days

We will refund, in full or in part as appropriate, if:

  • you were charged twice for the same period;
  • you were charged after you cancelled;
  • you were charged a renewal at a price we had not told you about in advance;
  • Insider content was unavailable for a sustained period and we could not put it right within a reasonable time;
  • we close your account, or stop offering Insider, for a reason that is not your fault, in which case we refund the unused part of your subscription;
  • the Australian Consumer Law, or an equivalent law where you live, entitles you to a remedy.

6. What is not refundable

  • A gap not earning what the card estimated. Revenue figures are labelled Potential and are our estimate of what an opportunity could earn. They are not a promise of income, and the terms make this clear before you pay. You are buying research and launch plans, not an outcome.
  • Changing your mind after 14 days. Cancel instead, and keep access to the end of your paid period.
  • Not using it. A period you paid for but did not log in during.
  • Third party costs. Money you spent on tools, advertising, stock, domains or services that a plan suggested. Those purchases are between you and that provider.
  • Accounts closed for breach. If we close your account because you broke the terms, for example by sharing content, scraping the board or disputing a legitimate charge, the current period is not refunded.

7. Chargebacks

Please email us before you dispute a charge with your bank. A refund from us reaches you faster than a chargeback, and a chargeback on a charge that is valid under this policy may lead us to suspend the account while the dispute is resolved. If your bank reverses a charge that we have already refunded, we may recover the duplicate.

8. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service you are entitled to cancel your contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract. This policy is in addition to those rights, not instead of them.

9. How to ask for a refund

  1. Email info@theearlybird.co from the email address on your Early Bird account, with the subject line "Refund".
  2. We reply within two business days. For a 14 day guarantee refund, that reply will usually confirm it is done.
  3. Refunds go back to the payment method you used. Stripe returns them to your card in five to ten business days, depending on your bank. We cannot speed that part up.

Refunds are made in the currency and amount you originally paid. If your bank charged currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, we cannot refund those.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes apply to payments made after the date at the top. A change never reduces the refund rights that applied when you made a payment.
